Castor oil(Ricinus communis), 100% organic, cold-pressed, unrefined and hexane-free, is an excellent conditioning and restorative oil for hair, nails and eyelashes, as its special structure allows it to bind easily to keratin. Recommended for dry, brittle and breakable hair, as well as normal hair with split ends or after aggressive treatments; it also regulates sebum production in oily hair. For the first few applications: mix in equal parts with an oil of your choice (e.g. coconut oil) in a sealed container and leave in warm water for 5 minutes – this makes it easier to distribute. Apply to damp scalp and massage in with circular finger movements; distribute through the lengths and ends, cover with a shower cap and warm towel and leave on for at least 30 minutes, then rinse out with a mild shampoo. Recommended use: 3–4 times a month for breakable hair, 1–2 times for normal but damaged hair. Eyelashes:apply pure with a mascara brush and leave on overnight – the secret of the grandmothers! Makes eyelashes darker, thicker and stronger.
