Characteristic main substances: isobutyl angelate (30–42%), isoamyl angelate (13–32%), amyl angelate (2–10%), alpha-pinene (1–5%) and p-cymene (1–5%).

Used in aromatherapy as a powerful sedative: calms the central nervous system and is indicated for anxiety, panic attacks, nervousness and insomnia – also in children. Antispasmodic: relaxes tense muscles caused by nervousness, helps with irritable bowel syndrome, intestinal cramps, colitis and flatulence colic in newborns. Relieves menstrual pain and menopausal symptoms.

Profoundly anti-inflammatory and calming effect on the skin – especially for very sensitive, dry and reddened skin, also after sunburn.
