Sandalwood(Santalum album), an evergreen hemiparasite from the Santalaceae family, grows in India in symbiosis with other plants such as palms and bamboo, from which it obtains water and mineral salts. The powder obtained from the heartwood has been a central element of Ayurvedic beauty care for thousands of years. On the skin, sandalwood acts purifying, antimicrobial, brightening, and sebum-regulating– ideal for acne, blackheads, skin blemishes, eczema, and irritated skin. The powder can also be added to the water of a hot bath to counteract physical and mental exhaustion. Excellent for combining with turmeric, amla, madder (Manjistha), and Nagar Motha. Heavy Metal Tested – Vegan OK.

Face mask

Mix sandalwood powder with warm water or – recommended – rose waterto form a smooth paste. Add other herbs as desired.
Cover the container and let soak for 15 minutes.
Apply the paste to the cleansed, dry or slightly damp face and leave on for 10–15 minutes.
For combination or dry skin: do not let the mask dry out completely, but moisten it in between with a little water or hydrosol.
Finish the treatment with rose water or another floral water.
Herbs can be combined synergistically with one another for holistic and individual care.

Apply the paste to a cleansed, dry or slightly damp face and leave on for 10–15 minutes.
