Turmeric(Curcuma aromatica), a perennial plant from the Zingiberaceae family – the same family as ginger – yields a bright yellow-ochre powder from its orange root, which has been used in India for over 5,000 years as a medicine, spice, dye, and lucky charm. The powder contains curcumin, potassium, vitamin C, and flavonoids, which give it strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immune-stimulating properties. In the hair, turmeric acts sebum-regulating and anti-dandruffby stimulating blood circulation and improving the supply to the hair follicles. As a hair dye, it is excellently suited for warm blonde and golden tones on light hair; in combination with henna, intense, warm copper tones are created, while with cassia, blonde tones are refreshed. Shades & Mixing Ratios

Pure:warm blonde and golden tones on light hair (light brown to blonde)
With henna:very intense, warm copper tones
With cassia:refresh and enliven blonde tones

⚠️ Do not use on bleached hair, hair with highlights, or sun-streaked hair. Do not combine with indigo or katam, and do not use on hair that still contains residues of these two herbs – otherwise unwanted green tones will occur.

Use as a hair mask / hair dye

Mix turmeric powder with boiling water and additional herbs of your choice to a yogurt-like consistency.
Cover the container and leave to soak for 15 minutes.
Apply the paste to dry hair and massage into the scalp using gentle circular motions. Work any excess paste through the lengths.
Leave on for 20–50 minutes(as a dye pack: 1–3 hours).
Rinse thoroughly and follow with a mild, diluted shampoo.

Use as a face mask

For use as a face mask, be sure to mix with clay and other herbs to avoid unwanted yellow discoloration of the skin.
Leave on for 10–15 minutes.
Note: Use very sparingly and in small amounts on the facial skin. Shorter contact times are not an issue when using on the body (shower/bath).
