Baheda(Terminalia bellerica) is a mighty deciduous tree of the Combretaceae family, whose sweet, oval fruits are rich in tannins, B-sitosterol, gallic acid, mannitol, and natural sugars. Baheda is one of the three ingredients of the legendary Triphala– the balancing and rejuvenating trio according to Ayurveda. For the hair, it nourishes the roots, strengthens the hair, promotes hair growth, stops hair loss, and prevents premature graying. It makes the hair soft, smooth, and healthy, works anti-dandruff on the scalp, and enriches the hair color. For the skin, Baheda works antioxidatively and antimicrobially and improves the skin tone. Note:Can be used on chemically dyed hair – not on bleached hair, as it can enhance a slightly golden tone. Tested for heavy metalsand the bacterial load neutralized. For external use only. Application

For the hair

Mix the Baheda powder with boiling water to a yogurt-like consistency. Add additional herbs as desired.
Cover the container and let it rest for 20 minutes.
Apply the paste to dry or slightly damp hair and massage in using circular motions. Work it through the lengths as well.
Leave on for 20–50 minutes.
Rinse thoroughly. If necessary, follow with a mild, diluted shampoo.
Finally, rinse with water and a little vinegar – for soft, shiny hair.

As a face mask

Recommended: Mix Baheda with clay and other herbs.
Apply to the cleansed face. Avoid the eye area.
Leave on for 10–15 minutes– keep the mask moist. If necessary, dampen with water or hydrosol.
Rinse off with lukewarm water.
