Puremetics

Good personal care doesn't have to come at the expense of the environment. Puremetics proves just that: With plastic-free, vegan products, lovingly handmade in Germany, the brand shows that natural cosmetics can be effective, sustainable, and beautiful – without compromise.

Behind Puremetics lies a clear philosophy: cosmetics should bring joy and be as honest as possible. That's why the brand consistently avoids microplastics, silicones, and parabens, opting instead for natural, biodegradable ingredients. The packaging is also fully recycled or compostable – Zero Waste is a lived philosophy here, not just a marketing promise.

The result: a wide selection of hair, face, and body care products that feel good every day – for you and for the environment.

Frequently Asked Questions about puremetics

Who's behind puremetics, and how did the brand come about? +
We love founder stories built on genuine conviction, and puremetics has exactly that to offer: as a teenager, Chris Cosma was already experimenting with skin-friendly creams and shower gels, partly because his mother could barely tolerate conventional cosmetics. Together with Chidobe Ogbukagu, he founded the company in Hanover in 2020 with a clear goal: to rethink cosmetics completely without plastic. That idea has since grown into a range of around 100 products for body, face, and hair, all produced in-house in Lower Saxony.
Are puremetics products really vegan and cruelty-free? +
Yes, without exception: every formula is completely free of animal-derived ingredients and is not tested on animals. The brand is accordingly listed on PETA's 'Beauty Without Bunnies' list. If a certified natural cosmetics seal also matters to you, our range also includes Uoga Uoga with COSMOS certification.
How can cosmetics even be 100% plastic-free, including shampoo and shower gel? +
This works mainly through solid rather than liquid formulas: at puremetics, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner come as solid bars or as powder you mix yourself with water, packaged in kraft paper instead of a plastic bottle. Even small details like coatings on paper bags or seals in screw caps are consistently avoided. In the end, there's really no plastic left, neither in the product nor in the packaging.
How long-lasting are solid soap bars and shampoo powders compared to liquid products? +
Noticeably more long-lasting than you might expect: with normal use, a bar of solid soap typically lasts two to three months, often replacing several bottles of shower gel. Using the powder products takes a bit of practice, but in return you avoid shipping around unnecessary water, and the packaging waste that comes with it. If you'd rather try the switch first, our range also includes handy mini boxes to help you get started.
Who is the Sensibelchen line for, and what makes it special? +
The Sensibelchen line was developed specifically for sensitive, irritation-prone skin, with especially mild, low-fragrance formulas. It's suitable for both sensitive adult skin and children's skin. For very dry or irritated skin, it's also worth checking our Moisturizing Care category for extra intensive care.
How do I properly use the solid hair soap or the Schaumie shampoo bar? +
Much like a regular shampoo: wet your hair and the bar, work up a lather briefly between your hands or directly in your hair and massage it in, then rinse thoroughly. It's worth being a little patient at first, since your hair needs time to adjust during the transition to solid care. Matching accessories such as a soap dish help the bar last longer between uses. You'll find all the matching hair care products in our Shampoos & Care category.
What does puremetics actually do for sustainability beyond the packaging? +
Quite a lot: for every order, puremetics works with partner CleanHub to fund the recovery of one kilogram of plastic waste from coastal regions before it reaches the oceans. The company also supports species and marine conservation projects, for example to protect sea turtles. Packaging is made exclusively from recycled or biodegradable materials instead of plastic.
How does puremetics differ from other natural cosmetics brands in your range? +
puremetics is our most consistent choice when it comes to avoiding plastic, with solid products and paper packaging instead of bottles. Uoga Uoga, by contrast, focuses more on certified natural cosmetics with classic textures and its own make-up range, while CMD Naturkosmetik stands for certified German precision care. If you're specifically looking for French-style cosmetics with clean, vegan formulas, you'll more likely find what you need at Avril Cosmetics. For us, though, puremetics remains the top choice whenever avoiding plastic is the top priority.
